“Birkman Experience” was absolutely amazing for our office. We are a medical practice, with the obvious importance on how we interact with our patients (customers). Furthermore, we are an OB/GYN practice of 35+ women staff, with the obvious opportunities for conflict and drama. Going through the Birkman was exciting for the staff. It is common lunchtime conversation during and since the process, as our staff can relate to each other via their “color.” They enjoyed getting to understand themselves and each other, and they would be the first to tell you how helpful it was to them as individuals and as co-workers. We can see a definite difference in how the staff relate to each other and have demonstrated improved customer service. I am grateful we became aware of the program directed by Marcia and Jennie. They are a powerhouse in the presentation and implementation of the program, and they invest themselves and their time into making it a success for their client. I would definitely and highly recommend this program to any business, but it is especially helpful in situations where the public is met and dealt with on many differing and important personal and medical issues”.
Cathy Slusher, BIRKMAN

“Marcia and her business partner, Jennie Cerrullo, conducted a 2 day professional development for my Leadership Team at JMU. Using the Birkman Method, they created an experience that was revealing to team dynamics, inspirational to all and created positive change amongst the participants. Marcia (and Jennie) did not shy away from the difficult conversations, asked poignant questions and challenged the entire group to go well beyond their comfort zones. I hired Kerus Institute for Training & Coaching a second time in December 2013 to work with members of a Women’s Leadership Seminar at James Madison University. It was equally as good! These trainers are excellent and I recommend them without reservation! Whether you are working with teams that operate under stress, have different management styles, work in volatile work environments, or want to enhance their current work behaviors, needs and interests, Kerus Institute can help you improve your most valuable resource . . . your people!”
Caroline Campbell, President’s Office, James Madison University
“Prior to taking the Birkman test the path ahead of me seemed crammed with many unknowns and questions. Now I not only understand all my strengths but also all my weaknesses. The Birkman test has confirmed many facts I know about myself and at the same time it has unveiled many aspects of myself that were unknown to me. I’ve been steered in a clear direction in terms of my career and I’ve been able to delve into ‘myself’ in order to act more effectively in my personal affairs as well as everything pertaining to my studies and career”.
Tamara Leidenberg (20), Individual

“I took the Birkman Test after having been to several Career counsellors and having done a couple of other tests. None of what I got back (mostly nothing in writing) compared with the results from the Birkman test. I was puzzled how the statements about me could have drawn from the questions asked and how spot on the results were. I learnt a lot about myself especially about my needs and some aspects, I was not aware of before but that will influence the way, I interact with other people and how I see myself. I also finally made the decision not to become a doctor (the direction, everybody seems to suggest) and rather go into engineering – which is far more in line with who I am and where my interests lie”.
Isabel Pretorius (17), Individual

“I only took the Birkman after enrolled for a Ba – and in first year, I realized that the subjects are not exciting me that much. The results from the Birkman test point into the direction of a Bcomm rather than a BA – and of all my subjects I enjoy economics the most. The test also showed that I shall function well in a corporate environment, sales and functions which allow for interaction with stakeholders. If I had taken the Birkman first, I could have saved myself one year of studying the wrong subject. I also liked to find out more about my communication style and all the information related to me approaching the job search and job interviews. I can recommend this test to everybody who wants find out about their best future choices. “The Birkman assessment is the most accessible and helpful career consultation experience I have come across. A simple internet test with remarkable insight. Thought provoking and causing a re-evaluation of my concept of who I am as a person and how my general life preferences tie into my ideal work conditions and desires. The feedback session was especially helpful as I was able to query and explore as much as I wished which allowed for time to consider and ponder on all the ideas the Birkman had given me.”

“In an environment where excellence seems to be the status quo, the Birkman analysis has a way to capture an individual’s mode of behavior in such a way that an individual feels equipped and capable to operate in a competitive environment with his own unique set of skills. Birkman highlights, emphasizes and offers you copious amount of relevant information to assist in making sound decisions. On a personal level, I had the benefit to observe Ulrike’s immense insight and passion for offering direction. Her professional and sincere manner, encourages one to trust the process. This offers you a one stop solution for even the most uncertain individuals”.

“IT TAKES COURAGE! Everyone acknowledges the devastating effects of HIV/AIDS, substance abuse and dysfunctional families on the youth of South Africa. Many organizations deal adequately with the consequences of these social pathologies but few offer a strategy to prevent them. ITC’s focus on promoting life-skills to our youth in such an entertaining way is a truly remarkable and effective strategy that inoculates our young people from the severe impacts of these pathologies. ITC is a movement that will truly promote community development”

“The Kerus Global ITC! curriculum is a modern day parable on the important topic of achieving behavior change among today’s youth. Its rich symbolism and examples from everyday life coupled with the lively fun activities leave an indelible mark in the memories of young people thereby ensuring self propagation. This also makes it a perfect fit to African culture that emphasizes learning from nature, story, song and other forms of drama in communicating messages of importance”” link=”” target=”_self”]”The Kerus Global ITC! curriculum is a modern day parable on the important topic of achieving behavior change among today’s youth. “I’ve never seen or imagined anything like It Takes Courage! that was just so full of hope. We want to take this knowledge and information back to Zambia and put it in the hands of Zambian youth pastors and youth educators. I am firmly convinced that this will not only affect Zambian churches, but it can have a ripple effect throughout the entire country.”
Jerry Ireland, African Youth Coordinator

“It Takes Courage! is a wonderful program that has come at the right time for our churches and communities. The program has energized youth ministries and leaders. It Takes Courage! has give them a tool and a structured program to use beyond the message of HIV/AIDS, but also to create a vision for life. It does not speak at people, it speaks with people. I thank God for what Dr. Jennie Cerullo and Dr. Marcia Ball have come up with. It is a gift to the church, to our communities.”
Thando Sikonkwane, Ministry Development Manager, Willow Creek Association, South Africa

“It Takes Courage! is going beyond our expectations. Nothing is having a greater impact in our schools and church communities. High school and college students are hardest to reach with the character message, but we hear that ITC! has become their favorite subject. The complaint we hear most often now is that “time is not enough!” This is one class students don’t want to miss. In light of this success, the Ministry of Education of Angola and Churches United Against HIV/AIDS-CUAHA have adopted the ITC! curriculum.”
Salomon Soares, Salomon Soares, RISE International, Angola

“It Takes Courage! is in line with our school motto. It takes courage for a person to reach the stars. We want this learner to come from humble beginnings and then move up there and reach the sky. I just can’t wait for the ITC! training conference in April!.”
Dricca Mooka, Principal,Pulamadibogo Primary School, Soshanguve

“Parents have been approaching us, wanting to make sure their children attend and are consistent because of the changes they observe in the children as they attend.”
Youth Network Southern Africa, Youth Network Southern Africa

“I think the curriculum is very necessary. Partnership [with Kerus, Acts2Change, and Doxa Deo Brooklyn Campus] came at the right time….It’s necessary that we go back to our schools now and guide students to know how to implement their rights in the constitution. Through the partnership, our schools will be able to cascade to all the other schools so that we have a better country.”
Ms. Tshepisd Ntabanyane, Deputy Chief Specialist (IDS), Gauteng Dept of Education
“I believe God is bringing partnerships to our city, to your city so we can see children live with new hope and eventually change the course of the future. We are going to focus on the children and we are going to educate them. I think that the stuff that Kerus has developed is fantastic. We are going to see life change in these children.”

“Parents have noticed changes in their children such as positive attitudes, courage and motivation. They are more willing to cooperate and offer support. Since ITC! has been implemented in our school, I have noticed the students are humble and love one another. They respect educators and parents at home.”
Angelo Matlala, Raikana Primary School, Soshanguve

“ITC! has taught me to see children in a very positive way and has built so much confidence, love and inner peace in me. The parents see a change in their children, and students have changed in their behaviors and attitudes.”
Lorraine Mpapu, Pulamadibogo Primary School, Soshanguve

“We structured our entire youth focus and program from June to November around the theme of It Takes Courage! and this has led to numerical growth of our ministry. The content helped keep youth coming every Saturday. The program evoked a lot of counseling sessions as we found out many of the youth had been abused physically, emotionally and sexually, and were dealing with confidence issues”
Grace Bible Church, Grace Bible Church, Soweto, Gauteng

“I have worked for quite some years with young people in South Africa, dealing with all kinds of issues, including unemployment, HIV/AIDS, etc. Most of the materials I’ve seen hasn’t worked to change the behaviors of young people we deal with. It Takes Courage! empowers young people with skills they are able to use to combat the HIV/AIDS problem. It also empowers them to relate with God in a deeper way.”
John Lumbe, Youth Network Southern Africa, Pretoria, South Africa

“We are still observing behavioral changes, and the youth energy in the church has changed. There is more interest in youth activities and more focus.”
Community Bible Church, Community Bible Church, KwaThema, Gauteng

Sunrise City Church, Sunrise City Church, Nelspruit, Mpumalanga

“The ITC! program is doing very well among the youth. The ITC! program has been a prayer answered. Since the introduction of the ITC! program, youth membership has increased from 15 to 40 youth. The youth meetings which were perceived to be boring are now attracting more youth. Before the ITC! program, two young people testified they lacked patience and self control. Now they are improving in these two areas.”
Claude Chifunda, Bethel City Church Int’l. Ndola central

“For 18 years our youth attendance was 18. After the introduction of ITC!, youth attendance increased to 36. Community youth are excited about the program. The church leadership is very surprised at the increase in number of the youth as a result of the ITC! program.”
Worthy Sikazwe, ACZ - Worship Centre, Mikomfwa, Luanshya

“Youth attendance has increased to from 15 to 30 youth per meeting. Some youth have testified that the program has motivated them to be young men and women of vision. Others feel they have become assertive and confident in life. The youth meetings are now interesting and attracting many young people. A nearby private school has requested the trained ITC! teacher/youth to conduct the ITC! program at that school.”
Alex Chingelesh, Cathedral of Faith church – Ndola central

“Pastors used to restrict their youth from attending interdenominational meetings. But since introduction of the ITC! program, pastors have allowed their youth to attend the ITC! meetings. Unity has been fostered as well. We have over 150 youth attending the ITC! program every week. Many young people are being transformed from alcoholics to sober minded youth, from being involved in premarital sex to being devoted to Christ.”
Edgar Chanda, George complex - Lusaka
